We love the craftsmanship on the collar. The lava rock, amber, tourmaline and mother of pearl accents combine to create a masterpiece. The weaving and twisting is the most exciting part of this unique necklace. The lace detail on the edge of the leather adds a vintage feminine appeal. Perfect with tube or low cut peace, to showcase the wearable art.

Exclusive Interview

The 949: What was the inspiration for creating Zivile Art?
ZivileI have been creating jewelry for quite some time now. When I began doing shows, I decided that I needed to create a company that jewelery could be branded under. I decided to use my name, Zivile , as the name for the company.

The 949: What inspirations do you pull from when creating specific pieces?
ZivileA majority of my inspirations come from nature, architecture, my dreams, different colors and sheets of stone. I have to feel each stone in order to get an inspiration through directness. Other inspirations come from my travel, mainly through out Europe. I am inspired to work with shapes and form that are not usually found in standard jewelry. I enjoy breaking the rules and thinking outside of the box.

The 949: Do you like to label your work in the accessory category?
ZivileI prefer to call it wearable art or sculpture. Zivile Art is definitely for a certain customer who appreciates art.

The 949: What have been some of your biggest accomplishments?
Zivile: In the last two years I have completed four seasonal collections and big production events. The events were a success and attracted a large following. My goal was to grow to a level where I can produce two collections a year, one which I have accomplished. Just a month ago, 4 other artists and I opened a gallery, called 'The Purl', in Philadelphia, PA where my wearable art is displayed.

The 949: What have been some of your biggest setbacks?
ZivileFinding just the right materials can serve as a bit of a problem. If I can't find exactly what I am envisioning, I use a close substitute. Usually the complimentary material is of the same color. Some stones, such as Opal, are impossible to work with using no equipment. Therefore I use the next best thing.

The 949: Where do most of your customers wear the pieces to?
ZivileMy jewelry is called 'jewelry for daring women' - so that speaks for itself. Some customers were my work each and every day of the year. Others mainly to galas or elegant events. A lot of the pieces can be dressed down, making them wearable for a variety of occasions.

The 949: Do you plan on opening another gallery outside of Philadelphia, P.A.
ZivileI am not planning anything as of yet, however I would like to open a gallery in Europe.

The 949: Where do you plan on taking Zivile Art in the near future?
ZivileRight now I do everything on my own, so I would like to take on a team. I also hope to have my own personal showroom. I plan on going to Berlin, so only the future inspirations can tell.
